Thirteen States, 5,127 miles, 25.6 mpg. Time spent in the car singing, laughing, listening to 3 books-on-tape exchangeable at Cracker Barrel, napping (while the other person drives), and seeing the USA.

I-40 starts in Barstow, California where I took this photo with the end of I-40 in Wilmington, North Carolina. We followed I-40 all the way to Knoxville, Tennessee

Exiting I-40 at Newberry Springs, CA and heading east on old Route 66, you will see this. After the photo, continue east to the next entrance back onto I-40

Just for the record, which car we drove on this 5,000+ sojourn.
